The ADT Dilemma

Sure, ADT is, by a landslide, the largest home security alarm company in the United States and it does tons of business by providing services to residential, business, and government customers. Most people are “buying into” the name ADT when they purchase their services. After all, ADT has partnered with companies large and small (including Sears) to sell its wares and services. But perhaps therein lies the ADT dilemma. ADT, although a huge company with home security systems on every block in America, does not do its own installations. This opens up the door to a world of problems for those customers that it serves – especially since one has to contract with ADT for two years just to get started.  Better hope you like them from the get-go or it may possibly be all downhill from there with no escape in sight, or so thousands of complaints against the company say.

It is important that ADT home security system customers note that when they buy an ADT system (or any home security system for that matter, in most instances), they are buying not one but two things. First off, you’re buying the equipment (although some companies offer ‘free’ equipment for new customers). Secondly, you’re buying the monthly monitoring service.  Most of the time, the equipment may be so-called ‘free’ because the cost is actually tacked on to your monthly service.  What’s never free, although it is often advertised as such, is the installation of your ADT home security system.  The cost is built into the two year or longer contract that you have signed.

And who will be the installer of this ADT home security system?  ADT contracts out the work to independent contractors in the local area who work for independent authorized ADT dealers.  Sounds sketchy, huh?  With this setup:

  • You don’t know for sure that the installer is licensed and bonded to come into your home. Is the installer insured? Will he need your pass code? Have proper criminal background checks been performed on him?
  • You don’t know for certain that the installer has been trained appropriately.  Will your system work correctly?

ADT home security systems’ leaves a lot ‘up in the air’ when it comes to installation.  A better option is to install a FrontPoint home security system. You know you can trust the FrontPoint installer –because he or she is you!  You install it yourself, easily within an hour.  You get all of the bells-and-whistles of ADT Home Security Systems with the added advantage of cellular technology. What this means is that instead of wiring that can be easily cut or dismantled by a burglar or intruder, your systems operate on cellular frequency.  What’s more – you can have full confidence in FrontPoint’s home security systems because FrontPoint deals directly with its customers. This says a lot about their commitment to making you feel safe, secure, and protected in your home.  There is no middle-man when it comes to FrontPoint – just honest to goodness service and savings!

If you haven’t taken a look at FrontPoint Home Security systems in comparison to the hassles of ADT home security systems, now is the time to do just that. FrontPoint surpasses ADT in many ways – not to mention their spectacular customer service. They just have a smaller advertising budget so they’re not as well-known as ADT. But stay tuned… with the service that they offer, they are poised to keep getting bigger!
